Throughout the month of October, Wilhelm Automotive will join the fight to ‘Wipe Out Breast Cancer’ with a unique Pink wiper blade campaign. The manufacturer of the blades, AutoTex Pink, donates a portion of the proceeds from sales to breast cancer research, and Wilhelm Automotive has also committed to donate $5 of each sale of the Pink wiper blades to support John C. Lincoln’s Breast Cancer Breast Health and Research Center’s Kids Coping Camps.
“This is an easy and affordable way for Wilhelm automotive customers to support Breast Cancer Awareness, and in particular, a program right here in the Valley that offers assistance to children dealing with a family member affected by breast cancer,” said Wilhelm President Chris Garman.
Wilhelm is pleased to support the efforts of John C. Lincoln’s Breast Cancer Health and Research Center. The Center offers free Coping Camps to children whose families have been impacted by breast cancer. The Camps offer the children valuable coping skills and communications strategies for dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis.
Children who attend the camp receive a bag with coping supplies including books, a teddy bear and even sunglasses that the children learn can communicate “Now is not a good time for me to talk.” when they are having rough patch.
“The diagnosis of breast cancer doesn’t just affect the patient, if affects the whole family. The Breast Health and Research Center wants to give hope, encouragement and power to everyone that is affected by breast cancer,” said Paulla Miller, Cancer Survivor and John C. Lincoln Breath Health and Research Community Outreach and Resource Manager.
The Pink wiper blades are high quality blades in a traditional black color with a small pink ribbon to denote the support of breast cancer awareness. The blades can be purchased at any of Wilhelm’s five Valley locations. The blades range in price depending on size starting at about $7.95 each.
